Memorandum of the Trust

1. The Trust shall be called ‘S. A. Hussain Memorial Trust’ (SAH-MT)
2. The office of the Trust shall be at Sri Bhuvanendra College, Karkala – 574 104, Udupi District.
3. The objectives of the Trust are to undertake the following major programmes and to celebrate the “S. A. Hussain Memorial Day” during the ‘Wildlife Week’ (October 1-7) each year:

(a) To promote environmental awareness among the local high school and college students by organizing various competitions with conservation themes.

(b) To encourage the conservation of the environment and the wildlife by conferring “S. A. Hussain Memorial Environment Award” each year to a person with outstanding contributions in these areas.

(c) To organize “S. A. Hussain Memorial Lecture” by eminent scientists/experts in biological sciences.

(d) To publish a souvenir - “Memories of S. A. Hussain” – by inviting material contributions from S. A. Hussain’s ornithological circle, friends and relatives.

(e) To publish a book on the “Birds of Southern Coastal Karnataka” and to dedicate the same to S. A. Hussain, the protégé of the legendary birdman Dr. Salim Ali.

(f) To establish “S. A. Hussain Memorial Library” at Sri Bhuvanendra College, using the collection of S. A. Hussain’s books donated by his family to the institution.
